And so the deadline for the dissertation has passed (5th March 2010). I think everyone handed in on time - At least I know I did. I'm glad it's all over at least and that I can finally move on with this film. There's a number of other worries on my mind however I shall not continue with them on here just yet. I feel this project has taken a long enough break for now and therefore I must jump in and get cracking on it once again. Today Sam and I did a whole day at Uni (near enough) and Stu came in for half of it. Josh was working from home - not sure about Ferhan but hopefully he's cracking on with some blendies. Either way Sam and I didn't get a great deal done. There were a number of distractions in the class unfortunately which kept meaning we had to stop what we were doing and talk to them for a bit. Granted - some distractions are welcome however sometimes when you're really trying to concentrate - they are least amusing
I think Sam managed to render a few images out in the 5/6 hours he was there - they were good occys locking off the camera which was cool and we spoke about how to introduce the target into the film. I think showing the notes in the briefcase is a good idea personally but I'm not sure if Sam is sold by it yet. We also need Josh to draw up a few more sketches just thinking about it - where the hitman walks across with his pistol out and switches on the light using it - building tension just before the reveal of the NINJAs.
Jared has also asked us for a .stl file - which I shall research in tomorrow for him and hopefully figure that one out - I think I'm half way with it just got to make heads of tails of it. Its not as simple as first thought unfortunately... Unless its possible to render out like it. Haven't yet considered that one...
Anyway... images below:
These two shots show what I was doing today around the distractions. As well as a bit of UVing laying out I decided to stick on a wee texture sample. I'm not too happy with these just yet. The green looks a bit naff but the wall paper is nice and simple. Might have to boost the file size slightly higher though to get more detail on the wall - or enlarge on the UV editor for specific areas. I'm glad I sort of figured out the UVing though as I was a bit worried as I couldn't find the UV editor at all in the morning - it had been a while since I last UV'd anything. but I got in the swing of it and I think I understand it quite well now actually. Should be ok laying out the UV's for myself - not sure if anyone else would understand it though.
