Update on what I've been doing

Not much Maya I'm not going to lie... I'm hoping to get cracking with it over the weekend at some point and early next week. I've been knocking down a wall...and building another wall for my room. Tis my Christmas Project I'm afraid. But hopefully once finished it'll be easier for me to work on projects and I'll be able to concentrate for longer :)

All tucked in

Made a messy bed in maya today, as well as doing some other projects on a few other things which needed to be finished. But now those are out the way I can concentrate a little more on my WHACK'D Project. Swimming is still on my todo list however this deadline is on Monday. Complete hand in on that Monday.

I'm quite happy with the way this model turned out - I'm one not for cheating as much as possible and therefore I did not use nCloth as I find its just a waste to play with dynamics when something is not going to be moving at all.... and if it is then theres a lil trick called blend shapes :P

Today the Whack'd team and I sat down and went through contracts. Each one has now been signed and everyone has a copy of their own. I have Master Copies of all these as well so if needs be (I'm 99% sure we wont need to) we can take a look at the originals and review them.

I have also been organising the Fund Raising Event for Dodgeball. Hopefully we can get some people to turn up and help raise a bit of money. I am going to probably pay for the Hall of my own back and therefore take any of the takings we can and support the degree show. If your reading this and would like to support the degree show (please do) then leave a message on this post or pop down to Sevenoaks School, Sennocke Centre on Saturday night :) we'll be happy to take £2 for the entry fee :p.

Monday Was quite productive

Sigg Jones Reference... Not only is it fun to watch but it looks so beautiful!

Today Sam and I have covered:

Contracts - getting them completed
Pacing of start of film
Revealing the targets back grounds - news article and voice over whilst setting up
Layout of Street.
Locking off shots.
Giving him a pistol - Shot Walking across the road to a low angle with bullet casings falling down.

Also attempting to get fundraising underway. I'm attempting to call my manager now to organise a day for the Dodgeball event. £3 per person sounds reasonable and attempt to get everyone to bring at least one person!!! Its for their own benefit so hopefully people will comply.

Outside

The outside opening we have been looking at to get an idea of news reports.

Todays Conversations

Spoke to Sam today on the phone.... as well as Max. Ok lets talk about Max first. Max rang me to chat about the 3rd year website. He said he'd be creating one for Moving Image as well as Graphics. All using the same man to create the site will aid us as we'll be under one brand unlike other years where we've been a fair bit... 'apart' from the rest of the show. Hopefully I'll be able to meet up with the other reps through Max Saunders and discuss branding - maybe drag along phil as he's got a keen eye but we'll see next term.

As for when I spoke to Sam, I just thought I'd let him know about the developments from Max. He also brought up the idea of us coming in on Monday, possibly to draw up some contracts for the guys and ourselves. The final versions. Not a bad idea. We also need to do a rough street layout for all the buildings and the road so we can all understand slightly better the shots. The animatic is useful however there is still a lot to be done with the camera angles as Mike and Dave have previously mentioned. We've had a lot of positive input around our film from various people. Other people thinking very negatively of our film however I'm glad that we have a team of dedicated individuals who have their own skills that they will all aid in the production, and post production phases to come. I look forward to the Christmas period and working alongside them every Wednesday running up to Christmas and in the terms ahead.
